1. Acquired Brain Injury Rehabilitation Service


NeuroRedacer centre is specialised in the treatment of motor, sensorial and cognitive effects, after a Brain Injury in the nervous system.

NeuroRedacer Centre actually works with five health specialities focused on the rehabilitation of Acquired Brain Injury in a coordinated way:


It is the discipline that uses physical agents (natural elements) to restore function when it has been lost. The different methodologies used are therapeutic exercises, massage therapy, electrotherapy, etc.
After the Brain Injury, the ability to walk, to stand, to move or to sit is lost. Main aspects in which the affected person and their families want to focus the rehabilitation.

Occupational Therapy

It is the discipline that study human activities, it works to follow the independence of the person using the occupation as a therapeutic tool.

The OT is a set of techniques, methods and actions that through certain activities is looking for get the autonomy and independence of the person in the Activities of Daily Living like: get dressed, eat, and others more complex. It also works in the design of adaptations to the home and support products.

Improves the ability and use of the hand and upper limb affected after a Brain Injury.

In addition, the Occupational Therapist has a transcendental role in the treatment of Sensory Integration (SI) problems in children.


It is the discipline that studies the relationship between brain and behaviour. It evaluates and rehabilitates the cognitive alterations, which comes from the Brain Injury. These cognitive areas are attention, memory, calculation, spatial and temporal problems, language, executive functions, etc.
The neuropsychologist performs cognitive stimulation sessions focusing on the most affected areas and evaluating each of the functions in a personalised plan for each user, in order to recover as much autonomy as possible.


It is the discipline that works in the emotional and behavioural dysfunctions. It evaluates how the person deals with their current situation and the presence of behavioural changes such as: irritability, aggression, anxiety or depression.
It will also give action guidelines and psychological support especially to the main caregiver or closest relatives, emphasizing on the most vulnerable ones as children, parents, spouse, etc.

Speech Therapy

It is the discipline that deals with the disorders of human communication. It includes the study, prevention, detection, evaluation, diagnosis and rehabilitation of such disorders.
After Brain Injury, it is common to find difficulties in:
1. In the oro-facial and deglutition functions: Dysphagia (difficulty in swallowing liquids or eating food)
2. In speech functions: APHASIAS (there are several types, global, Broca, Wernicke, etc.)
3. In the voice: Dysphonia
It is also responsible of the fulfilment and advice in the different alternative communication systems: SAC and Eye-tracking technologies such as Irisbond®

2. Memory Unit and Cognitive Impairment Prevention


This service is good for two different segment of the population:

  • Ones who want to know the condition of their memory and prevent the Cognitive Impairment..
  • exclusiveOnes who have diagnosed any dementia and are looking for a cognitive stimulation therapy in order to slow down the pathology.

3. Advice and guidance to family

We advise the family of patients affected with Brain Injury, offering them whatever necessary to interact as better as possible with the patient and giving them the advices to overcome the new situation and reduce the workload of the main carer.
